About Us
Our History
RM Productions opened its doors in September 1999 by owner, director, and instructor, Rose A. McDonough, with a mission of providing affordable quality dance education and performance opportunities to anyone who has the desire to dance. Classes and private lessons are offered in ballet, pointe, tap, jazz, musical theatre, technique, contemporary and lyrical for ages 3 through adult for all ability levels. Since the opening, we have prided ourselves in offering dance opportunities to people with and without disabilities. This is something Miss Rose and her team all have a deep commitment to.
Our Classes
RM Productions offers competitive and non-competitive classes. We have 3 levels of competitive teams competing in tap, jazz and lyrical. On average we participate in 3 to 4 local competitions. On occasion we as a team will travel out of state to Pittsburgh, Columbus or Cincinnati. Our competitive teams are regularly recognized competitively with high scoring awards including best choreography, best costumes and high overall scoring routines. Many of the dancers also dance in solo/duet/trio categories in addition to their class work. Participation is based on the student’s performance in regular classes including technical abilities, dedication, attendance, attitude and overall desire to grow as a dancer.
The philosophy that RM Productions believes in is that everyone deserves the opportunity to dance regardless of age or ability. Dance is a passion and a love that we want to share.
Perform on stage
As a studio, we do a biennial Holiday Show and an annual recital. Our productions are second to none in variety, professionalism, costuming, originality, choreography and entertainment. In addition to those regular productions, we also do local performances including in nursing homes, parades and other special public events.
learn Life skills
Dance class is often the dancer’s first experience outside of the home and/or family. Many skills are learned in dance class in addition to dance and that includes social skills, learning to take turns, learning to work with other students and teachers, following classroom rules and memorization of steps, terms and choreography. It is a great way for toddlers to prepare for pre-school and Kindergarten. We take our responsibility to our parents and students very seriously keeping lines of communication open and keeping you informed every step of our dance journey.
Teaching quality dance technique and terminology at reasonable pricing is at the forefront of your dancer’s experience with safety as priority number 1
